Before he began his clinical career, Dr. Lloyd spent over a decade as a senior pastor in full-time Christian ministry. This experience enables him to infuse his therapeutic approach with the insights he gained from years of spiritual leadership. This innovative blend sets him apart in the field, allowing him to integrate spiritual wisdom into his therapeutic work.

Dr. Lloyd’s academic journey is a testament to his commitment to faith and psychology. He holds earned doctoral degrees from Louisiana Baptist University and Great Plains Baptist Divinity School, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of Christian theology and counseling principles. This dual foundation allows him to offer a wholistic approach to mental health, integrating spiritual insights with evidence-based psychological practices.

Driven by a passion for continuous growth and knowledge, Dr. Lloyd has expanded his expertise through advanced training at renowned institutions such as Liberty University, Oral Roberts University, Florida Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and Brunel University of London. His distinguished career spans decades, during which he has maintained a flourishing private counseling and consulting practice and established innovative clinical programs across eight states, including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Colorado, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Hawaii. His extensive training and experience instill confidence in his clients and colleagues as he consults globally. He currently serves as the president-elect of the International Association for Biblical Education (IABE), an organization with a presence in over 15 countries dedicated to the global advancement of theological education.

Dr. Lloyd’s background enables him to address the complex interplay between faith, personal growth, and mental well-being. A deep respect for individual beliefs and a scientific understanding of human behavior and emotional health characterize his work in Christian counseling and psychology. Married to his wife Hillary, with six children, he adores family dinners and has a passion for travel and history.
